Town & Gown Christmas Productions
If you’re wanting something a little more Christmassy for your advent countdown then you might want to take a visit to Town and Gown. Town and Gown is a unique treasure to Cambridge combining both a Pub/eatery and Theatre. With a downstairs area suited for guests to grab a bite to eat and a beautiful upstairs theatre, there really is no place quite like it.
This year they are performing the Miracle On 34th Street: A Live Musical Radio Play. This production see’s a department store Santa claiming that he is the real Kris Kringle. His case is taken all the way to the Supreme Court and a little girl’s belief makes the difference in the ‘miracle.’ With some sing-along Christman carols, this all time favourite Christmas movie makeover will get you in the festive spirit. The production is running from the 2nd of December all the way up until Christmas Eve so head on over and book your tickets now.
Or if you’re looking for things to do just after Christmas, but before the kids go back to school then you may be interested in Father Frost. This performance is a musical fairy tale about a girl and her dog making an unexpected friend. Father Frost has been described as heartwarming and fun for all the family, so if you’re interested in a Russian fairy tale why not check it out at Town and Gown this winter season?
If you are taking a trip to the pantomime this year in Cambridge, then you could make it a day of festivities by adding on a winter punting tour before your panto experience. Choose either a Private Punting or Shared Punting Tour to see the beauty of Cambridge in the frost or snow if we are lucky. A relaxing 50 minute chauffeured journey along the college backs, with a hot chocolate or mulled wine in hand will top off your visit to Cambridge this Christmas season. We even have a Christmas scavenger hunt and punt this year for the entire family to enjoy which could potentially turn into one of your Christmas traditions that you come and experience year upon year.
With hours of fun to be had in Cambridge this year, make sure your advent count down is full of festive activities, so your run up to Christmas Day is full of memories your family will share forever.
