The weather is FINALLY becoming springlike, and what better way to celebrate than by being outdoors? We are very lucky in East Anglia to have an abundance of different terrains to enjoy throughout the year.
Cambridgeshire- Easter Punt and Hunt
Punting is as synonymous with Cambridge just as Egg Hunting is with Easter. You can book either a Private or Shared chauffeured punting tour and add on a scavenger hunt for just £2.50 extra per child. Our Easter-themed scavenger hunts are separated into two parts. The first half is designed to be completed whilst out on your punting tour, whilst the second half is a scavenger hunt around the city. Once the hunt has been successfully completed you will be able to claim your prize at Hardy’s Sweet Shop.
What is Easter without celebrating the new life of animals being born? Barleylands Farm, situated in Essex has an abundance of activities to keep your little ones entertained. From Wildlife Walks to Animals Barns to Discovery Centres and Indoor Play. During the Easter holidays, Barleylands are offering spring-themed craft times, lamb feeding and lots more.
Suffolk- Jimmy’s Springtacular Adventure
There is a clear theme with most of these recommendations being outdoor Easter activities for older children. However, there is really no better way to celebrate the coming of the new season than by being surrounded by nature. At Jimmys Farm you can learn all about the cycles of nature with Lambing Live.

For those of you who want to spend a bit more time inside rather than outdoors, don’t worry we have you covered. Escape rooms provide lots of fun (hours if you get really stuck!), and they really challenge your brain. Escape Rooms are definitely Easter activities for older children. Lockhouse Escape Rooms in Cambridge currently offer four different rooms; Armageddon; The Egyptian Tomb; Secret Agent; and The Mayan Temple.
Are you more of a cooking connoisseur than a detective? Why not try ICE cookery school in Bury St Edmunds. Over the Easter holidays, they are hosting a variety of child-friendly cooking classes, including Kids Baking on Thursday 13th of April. During this session, you will get a two-hour introduction to baking whilst also being able to take home your creations to impress the whole family.
