Traditional Punting Company Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions 

All agreements are made between ‘you’ and the Traditional Punting Company.

Payment

Payment can be taken online, via invoice or over the phone with debit/credit card or bank transfer.

Payment is taken in GBP. For bookings more than 2 weeks in advance either a full payment or a 30% deposit payment can be made to secure the booking. The balance payment is due 2 weeks before the booking date. For bookings less than 2 weeks in advance full payment is taken to secure the booking.

Bookings

All bookings are subject to availability.

Traditional Punting Company reserves the right to withdraw a product or package at any given time. In this case any outstanding bookings will be given the choice of an alternative product of equal or higher value or a full refund.

Access

Due to the historic nature of the river there is limited disabled access. Despite this we aim to accommodate disable customers wherever possible. Please contact us to discuss the options further.

Cancellations

Private Punting Tours: Bookings cancelled more that 72 hours in advance are eligible to a 70% refund or can be rescheduled within the next 6 months. If only a deposit has been taken this will be retained. Bookings cancelled with less than 72 hours will not be refunded but can be rearranged for a fee of £15 plus (plus the difference if the new time/date is more expensive) up to 24 hours before departure.

Shared Punting Yours: Shared tours are booked for a specific time and date, these tickets can be rescheduled for another day with more than 24 hours notice (charges will apply if a more expensive date/time is selected).

Picnics/Drinks/Extras: Must be paid in full in advance and are non refundable or exchangeable with 14 days of booking date. 70% refund available before this time frame.

Additional Services: Walking Tours and Scavenger Hunts are non refundable within one month of the booking date. 70% refund or reschedule if cancelling more that one month in advance.

COVID-19 – If you or anyone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms or has been told to isolate DO NOT COME PUNTING. Please alert the sales office by 9am on the day of your booking and we will reschedule or refund your booking. For more information see the COVID-19 page.

Late Arrival

For all punting tours a time and date is pre-booked and all late arrivals will result in a missed tour. If you know you will be late please contact the Traditional Punting Company on 01223 782306 as it may be possible to reschedule your booking in certain circumstances (subject to availability).

Non-appearance

If you fail to show up for your tour without letting us know no refund or rescheduling will be applicable.

Bad Weather

We operate in all weather unless deemed dangerous by our management team.

If you cancel your Private Tour with at least 48 hours notice then you can either reschedule or receive a refund minus the 30% non refundable deposit. If you cancel you Private Tour without providing notice or do not contact us then payment is retained. If you wish to reschedule an additional 30% will need to be paid.

For shared tours a reschedule is available if you provide a 24 hour notice period (subject to availability).

If we cancel your booking then a full refund for your punting tour will be issued.

Safeguarding

All under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or adult in the role of “loco parentis” to go out on a river tour with us.

Delivery

Online booking confirmation constitutes your ‘ticket’. Please print out your booking confirmation or be able to show it on a smart phone or tablet at our check in desk. Confirmation can be sent via post where specifically requested. In the case of a lost ticket/confirmation, one can be reissued in advance of the tour date, however you must contact the Traditional Punting Company on 01223 782306 before the date of departure in order for tickets to be reissued.
