Open All Year (Almost!)
We’re proud to operate every day of the year, excluding Christmas Day. The only other time we may close is in cases of extreme weather, where safety is our top priority. Fortunately, such closures are rare, and we have a reliable team dedicated to accommodating space for our customers elsewhere under these conditions.
Got a question or need to reach us? Our friendly office team is available every day from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm—except on Christmas Day. Calling after hours with a same-day booking? No worries—you’ll be redirected to our river team. If it’s not urgent, just leave us a message and we’ll get back to you first thing the next morning.
Our river team is also available during office hours, with extended availability that changes by season and daylight. In summer, we stay open later; in winter, we close a bit earlier—usually after the final tour of the day.
Need to call? Dial 01223 782306. Press 1 for the River Team and 2 for the Office Team.
Seasonal Tips for the Best Punting Experience
Punting is a joy year-round, but a little planning goes a long way to make your trip as comfortable as possible—whatever the weather.
Final departure times vary by season, adjusted in half-hour increments to match available daylight.
Make the most of long, golden evenings with tours running as late as 9 pm. It’s a perfect time to enjoy a sunset punt or an evening on the water. Shorter days mean crisp mornings and earlier finish times, with our last tours departing by 3 pm. Don’t forget to bundle up—it can get chilly on the river!
We’ve got you covered with blankets and umbrellas on board when needed, but a warm scarf, gloves, and a hat are always a good idea during colder months. In warmer weather, sunglasses, water, and sunscreen can help keep you comfortable and protected on your trip down the River Cam.
Feel free to bring along your favourite snacks or drinks. Many of our guests grab a hot coffee or tea from nearby cafés before their tour. After something more special and exclusive? We can help you organise a private picnic and drinks to enjoy on board—just ask!
Accessibility Information
For those with mobility needs, the shortest way to reach us is by being dropped off on the corner of Jesus Green where Richmond Terrace and Park Parade meet. Our landing stage is located about 10 metres from this point.
Our team is experienced in assisting customers with mobility needs in and out of the punts. However, we recommend calling us in advance to discuss any specific requirements, so we can ensure everything is prepared for your visit.
If you are using a wheelchair, it can either be folded and stored on the boat with you during your journey or left at our cashier’s desk. Please note that while our team will keep an eye on items left at the desk, we operate in a public space and cannot take responsibility for belongings.
Please be aware that there are three steps leading down to the landing stage where the punt will be docked. A railing is available for support while navigating the steps. However, there is no physical railing for the last step into the punt itself. This is where our friendly chauffeurs will be on hand to provide assistance and ensure you board safely.
