Valentines Day Itinerary

With Valentines Day fast approaching we thought we would write a comprehensive guide to the best things to do in Cambridge this Valentines Week.

 

Cambridge is a beautiful city with incredible architecture, history and culture. There is so much that our city offers, from outside activities, to cultural hotspots, to shopping. So whether you are a local or are looking for a staycation, Cambridge is the best city to spend Valentines Day 2023.

Where to Stay

This Valentines Day we partnered with another local small business, House of Luchini, to create a giveaway. House of Luchini are giving one lucky winner a free nights stay on Valentines Day, a complimentary bottle of prosecco and a free fifty minute private punting tour.

 

Although the competition has now closed, House of Luchini still have several properties in Cambridge that are available this Valentines Day. Including a quaint cottage on the corner of Parkers Piece. This cottage on Regents Terrace is just a 5 minute walk to the centre of Cambridge and to Mill Road and is a 15 minute walk to Cambridge Train Station. Where to Eat

You won’t need to wonder far for Breakfast, Espresso Library is situated on the other side of Parkers Piece. The unique multi hang out space serves breakfast from 7.30am till noon, you can treat yourself to shashuka, avocado toast or porridge. Start your day right with a delightful breakfast at a cafe which is a fusion of an art gallery, cycle cafe and restaurant.

 

Before your punting experience with us, we highly recommend having lunch at The Punter. The pub is situated a five minute walk from our landing stage. Their unpretentious menu offers delicious and truly British cuisine. The ideal warmer just before your punting tour with us. Just make sure you don’t drink too much as there are no loos once your on a punt.

 

Just a stones throw away from Parkers Piece, The Gonville Hotel offers up delectable dining options. Their Terrace Restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients for their fine dining menu, created by Head Chef Jamie De Cruz. So settle down with your loved one over a seafood bisque and discuss the exciting events that you have experienced that day.

 

Where to Drink

If you want to extend your day way past dinner time, we recommend popping to Novi for a late night tipple. Their extensive cocktail menu ensures there is something for everyone.

What to Do

Morning- Museums

Quench your thirst for a bit of culture and visit the art gallery at The Fitzwilliam Museum. Here you will find paintings by renowned artists including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Barbara Hepworth.

 

Afternoon- Punting in Cambridge 

This year Traditional Punting Company have introduced a new Valentines Day Punting Package, running from the 11th-14th of February. Valentines is the day of showing love, and whilst you do this everyday, it is nice to have a dedicated day to something special. This sentimental tour allows you and your loved one to glide along the College Backs. A perfect way to celebrate your love. A bottle of champagne and a bouquet of 12 red roses is included in this tour.
