Our scavenger hunt and activity book is an exclusive Halloween treat that you can add on to your punting experience with the Traditional Punting Company this October half term. Your family can have a spooktastic experience in the historical centre of Cambridge learning about the ghosts and ghouls that roam the river and cobbled streets for only an additional £2.50 per child.

Punting in Cambridge this Halloween

Halloween 2024, here we come! The hunt consists of a series of questions, some take place on the river as part of your punting tour, and the rest takes place around the city. So dress up and come join us for a family-fun spooky Halloween.

This Halloween scavenger hunt and activity booklet is inclusive for all the family, not only does it include questions for the kids but there are also parent prompts so everyone can be involved in hearing the scary tales of Cambridge.

All of the questions will take you to the most haunted places around the city, where you will search for spirits, monsters, witches and so much more!

If you successfully complete the Halloween scavenger hunt there will be a sweet treat (no tricks involved) waiting for you from Hardy’s sweetshop, a reward for all of your efforts. So book now and get hunting!

Halloween Punt and Hunt

  • This Halloween scavenger hunt and activity booklet can only be purchased alongside a Shared or Private Cambridge Punting tour.

  • The hunt & activity booklets are available as an Add-On once you have selected your punting tour. Please make sure that you are booking between the 26th of October and the 3rd of November for this Halloween add-on to appear. Select the number of booklets you would like to purchase – we do recommend that each child has one so they can all complete the activities and receive their prize together.

  • Your pack will be handed to you at the start of your punting experience.

  • The questions during your punting experience will be used to form your final code for your scarily sweet surprise. The city part of the booklet is an additional Halloween hunt to carry on the fun. This part of the experience will take you roughly an hour and will guide you around the iconic centre of Cambridge, so why not take a few stops along your way for a bite to eat or drink to make a full day of it.

  • The hunt & activity book is for those aged between 4 and 11, with the older kids being able to complete the hunt by themselves but for those young monsters, parents will need to help point them in the right direction. This Halloween activity is children-friendly with only fun and silly scares, so it is perfect for the whole family.

Thanks Traditional Punting Company, my kids loved the halloween booklet. They had a great time completing the activies along the river and the tour guide was great with them. We also completed the city centre scavenger hunt which took us to all of the spooky parts of Cambridge, finding out about its past. Great for all ages, and included some child-friendly scares. Their favourite part was of course the prize!!!

I took my children with their friends on this Halloween package, it was a great way to enterain them for a few hours. The booklet was a fantastic idea and they loved taking it home as a souvenir. We even made the cookies to carry on the Halloween fun. I would recommend to anyone visiting Cambridge whose children like Halloween and having a giggle together whilst finding the answers around the city.
